Julia Collins “was the first Black woman to have her company valued at over a billion dollars and become a unicorn in the tech industry” (Refinery29). She co-founded Zume Pizza, which created a robotic arm that makes pizzas. Julia attended Harvard and studied biomedical engineering, then received her MBA from Stanford (Afrotech). It wasn’t until much later that she found her passion is food.

Not only did she marry her diverse background of engineering, tech, business, and food together to launch and scale Zume, she’s on another mission to create climate-friendly food and recently founded Planet FWD and just raised $2.7 million in funding (Techcrunch).
